While working toward his degree in cross-cultural studies at
Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, Scott traveled across the U.S.
and to ten foreign countries with the Light Singers. Scott's ministry has
continued in the U.S. and abroad since his graduation in 1984. He has taken
the gospel of Christ personally and via television to hundreds of thousands
of people.
Today, the Scott Davis Ministries conducts "Bringing People Together" family
concerts in churches and schools throughout America. Scott incorporates
music, a lighthearted, yet realistic look at everyday life and
relationships, and a deeply challenging message from God's Word as he
reaches out to Christians and the communities in which they live.
For over
fifteen years, since graduating from Liberty University, Scott Davis has
been in full-time ministry performing concerts in local churches, schools
and special events. Blending his diverse talents as a singer and comedian,
Scott has a unique way of combining various styles of music with a
lighthearted, yet realistic, look at life in today's world.
Musician
Having traveled for four years with the Light Singers on a full musical
scholarship at Liberty University, Scott is a professional, gifted
contemporary music artist. Through this group, he has ministered through
music to literally thousands all over the world, including Brazil, South
Africa, Korea, Asia, American and Western Samoa, and among thirteen total
countries.
Over the years, he has performed on television and in major events
with some of America's greatest Christian leaders, including Dr. Jerry
Falwell, Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Nelson Price, Dr. Ike Reighard, Dr. Bailey
Smith, Dr. John MacArthur, and many, many others.
Also, he has shared either stage or screen with some of America's finest
Christian entertainers and musicians such as Mark Lowry, Kathy Troccoli,
Mike Tait of dcTalk, Michael W. Smith, Sandi Patty, Dallas Holm, Babbie
Mason, among just a few.
Comedian
Over the
years, Scott has learned that comedy is a wonderful way of encouraging and
communicating a very serious message. Having been nudged by best friend,
Mark Lowry, Scott has become known to many as a Christian comedian as much
as a contemporary Christian Music Artist. He believes that if you can get
people to laugh, you can get them to listen.
As a result, Scott has made many individual appearances on major top
Christian Television and Radio Shows across America performing his own brand
of comedy. Scott has appeared on such shows as the national "Swan's Place"
with host Dennis Swanberg, "Praise The Lord" on TBN, and "Among Friends" on
Chicago's Channel 38.
For a year, Scott was also a regular on the national variety show, "The Mark
& Kathy Show" with hosts, Mark Lowry & Kathy Troccoli. He performs regularly
on all Mark's comedy videos and concert video intros that are played for his
live road tours. Scott was one of the main comedy writers on Lowry's
certified gold comedy video, "Remotely Controlled."
Scott Davis travels weekly performing Christian concerts in churches, Single's events, outdoor events, benefits, schools, retreats, camps, etc. In an hour concert, he will weave great middle of the road Christian music containing strong spiritual lyrics with real life comedy to communicate the message that no matter what age, from the cradle to the grave, you can be totally committed to Christ and still have a wonderful time in life!
